The idea of working simultaneously for different companies while visualizing the dream of being your own boss can have it’s own advantages and disadvantages. Most see it as a flexible way of having multiple sources of income and an enriching opportunity to expand and explore various skills, while not being tied down to a nine to five job, whereas, for some it means the chance to work from home at their own convenience. Even though finding jobs as a freelancer might not be easy, there are however, various opportunities available for freelancers based on their interest and qualifications, which include education, writing, translation, graphic design, consulting, computer and IT, accounting and finance, web development, entertainment, health care, and sales and marketing. Freelancers, of different age group, are now a growing number in the job market and according to a survey done by Freelancers Union and Elance-oDesk; there are about 53 million American freelance workers (PBS, 2014). Freelancers can be placed in various categories but most can be summarized as independent contractors, moonlighters, diversified workers, temporary workers, and freelance business owner.
